Four teams would venture out for the fifth Virginia Catfish
Nation Tour for 2008.
The tournament would be the first every to be on the true
South Potomac, Aquia , out of Hope Springs Marina. The 7 am
launch saw the temp of 50 degrees, no wind, and glass water
conditions. That would change as the day went on, as the wind
made conditions very tough in the afternoon. There was also a
lot of pleasure boats on the river, with the temps getting into
the low 80’s. There was a mix of Channels and Blues, brought
to scales.

1st Place – Harry Wihelm, James Fields & Nathanel Fields with
a total weight of 27.2 lbs.
They would win $120.00. They also won Big Fish, $80.00, with
a 16.4 lb blue.

2nd Place – Robert Geiger, Gregory Gibson Sr with a total
weight of 25.4 lbs.

3rd Place – Jeff Fink Sr, Jeff Fink Jr, & Oran Shea with a total
weight of 19.6 lbs.

4th Place – Tim Maupin, Jody Maupin & Patrick Knight with a
total weight of 15.8 lbs.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our next tour on The
Chickahominy River, May 17, 2008, for our first night tour of
2008. 7 pm to 7 am.
